The CAMx runs are identical except for the input meteorology. Emissions are from the EPA 2018ed modeling. Surface emissions use the closest day in 2011 (the base year of the EPA 2018ed modeling) that is the same day of the week (i.e. Monday, Tuesday, etc). Point emissions are a selection of 1 weekday and 1 weekend day each month that contain above average EGU emissions and relatively low fire activity. Boundary conditions are the from the 2011 EPA modeling derived from annual GEOS-Chem runs.

Future enhancements:

  • Use boundary conditions from WACCM model
  • Interpolate surface emissions between a base and future modeling years
  • Integrate observed fires into the emissions
