AIR Tool User Guide

The Ambient Information Reporter (AIR) tool was jointly developed by the State Climate Office of North Carolina and the NC Division of Air Quality to provide access to both air quality and weather observations and forecasts within the same interface.

The AIR tool offers a simple way to view outdoor conditions and assess potential hazards, including pollutants, extreme temperatures, and precipitation, based on high-quality and high-resolution monitors and observing stations across North Carolina.

This user guide describes the features and datasets of the AIR tool, including examples of how it can inform decisions related to outdoor activity. Each module below covers a different aspect of the tool, from the overall interface to specific types of data included within it.
